R J Cox civil Engineers were contracted to Bristol Water to Clean out the reservoir and undertake a Ground Penetrating Radar on the bypass channel and Dam.
We had to remove the non-Native Crayfish from the Stilling Basin and Return the Captured Fish to the Adjacent Lake. Bristol Zoo aided the capture and removal as we reduced the water level by pumping the water back into the reservoir and over pumping from the Reservoir into the stream.
The over pumping was run 24/7 with R J Cox providing emergency cover. A 150mm Towable pump was on standby should the onsite pump fail.
A specialist team from Bristol Zoo catch fish to allow works to commence
Further inspection of the outlet structures and inlet weir led to further work re bedding the weir copings and concreting a void under the outfall weir.
A 36m Concrete pump was used to place 12m3 of Concrete.
